steorra: Part of Saturn in the shade of its rings (Default)
From: [personal profile] steorra
I've seen several stories about the carving from the meteorite, and they keep having a strange apparent inconsistency. First they call it a Buddhist statue, or a statue of a Buddha, or something like that. Then they say that it was probably carved by the pre-Buddhist Bon culture of Tibet. Those do not seem to me to be compatible claims, and if they are, it deserves an explanation.
